Hon.

A. I. Garba

My Manifesto

I am Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) and I am running for the seat of the member representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the upcoming 2023 general elections because I believe I have the most pragmatic and realistic ideas that deal with the experience I have as a serving member. I have been privileged to be your representative for some years now, and I believe our future is becoming brighter as we take each and every step together as one.

For some years now, I have watched our community (constituency) evolve. There are too many good things that we have achieved together with me as your representative in the Federal House of Representative and I strongly believe that we can do even better and achieve great things together for the continuous growth and development of our beloved constituency.

Now, we face insecurity in some parts of our constituency and our entire state which I, through the office of our beloved constituency, along with both the State Government and the Federal Government are doing our best by any means necessary to curb the situation and restore peace to all affected areas. These are tough times. And there is no easy answer.

I am committed to doing everything possible to build a team of people capable of tackling the most difficult problems affecting our constituency. It is our duty not just as political leaders from this community (constituency) but also as members of the society to have to help our community not only get through these difficult times, but to come out better and stronger than before.

We have never experienced anything like this, and we have to accept the fact there are no easy answers. However, I believe with hard work and strong decision making and policies we will have better days ahead.

I know being re-elected as your Federal House of Representative Member is an extraordinary leadership challenge because I held the position but I am confident to say that my years of experience in the Green chambers have made me capable of undertaking this task. With experience comes insight and a deeper understanding of the many issues that need to be addressed. It’s crucial to acknowledge the fact that no matter how well equipped I am, I can only do the work if each of you votes for me. It is Only when we work together, with each party playing their part, can we dare to achieve the goal of creating a better future for all of us.

I am ready and capable of accepting the responsibility for the welfare of our constituency, but I know I cannot do it alone. I need your vote to help create a future we all want for our constituency, our families, our people, our businesses. It’s all about you.

Before you go ahead to read my manifesto, I would like to tell you why I’m running for this position. This role is actually all about YOU, your education and your welfare. I hope to continue to represent the constituents of Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency on matters relating to the growth and development of our society. My objective is to ensure that every constituent is well represented at the Green Chambers selflessly, laying more emphasis on the importance of education among the youths in our society and provide the necessary support required to help them through their educational endeavors through the provision of student scholarships and educational materials, reduce unemployment rate through the introduction of numerous empowerment programmes for both women and youths, provide more infrastructure development in the areas of health, education and sports, provision of easily accessible clean water to rural communities, as well as rendering whatever support our people need in order to make our communities great.

A big priority of mine is to strengthen the link between you and my office, because only by hearing your concerns and ideas can my office serve you better. If there is something that you want to see improved that doesn’t appear on this manifesto, get in touch, as I want to represent YOU!

Our Promise

If elected these are the pledges I will be mainly working on:

Education

As we all know education is the bed rock of any stable and progressive society. With just education we can achieve a lot, and break new grounds. So there is the need for us to do more in the area of education. If elected, I will provide free and accessible scholarship programmes to encourage the youths wanting to further their education not limiting their educational certificates to SSCE but rather beyond. I believe, this move will also serve as an assistance to parents and guardians financially, especially those that find it very difficult to sponsor their children education upto the tertiary level.

Reduce Unemployment Rate

These can easily be achieved with the introduction of skill acquisition and empowerment schemes. So far, we have empowered over more than 20,000 people from our society and I believe a lot can be still be done. I know we can achieve these through numerous empowerment schemes in collaboration with several Federal Governments Agencies. Teaching members of our community (constituency) on how to start up their own small scale businesses which will enable them to have financial independence that will help them support their families, and even help other members of the society.

Infrastructural Development

Modern societies depend on infrastructure to sustain their quality of life and business competitiveness. Infrastructure is the bedrock of economic growth and has the capacity to create jobs and significantly improve people’s lives by reducing commuting time for workers, moving goods around the communities and state, and making our communities resilient. An advanced economy increasingly relies on connectivity – bringing people together physically and virtually to innovate and trade. Investors need confidence that our infrastructure systems are reliable and affordable.

Health

Restoring the core values of the health care system has always been our objective by allocating our pertinent resources to primary healthcare, as well as improve the primary healthcare infrastructure with the aim of providing and improvising easy access to primary healthcare.

  • Reduce Child-Birth And Children Mortality Rate
  • More Water Project

Women And Youths Empowerment

I have to make more emphasis on this particular aspect in our society as we all know women and youth face distinct challenges in participating in the productive sectors of the economy. Although women and youth are not a homogeneous group and their circumstances vary according to age, class, education, ethnicity, location and other cultural- and socio-economic characteristics, it is widely acknowledged that women and youth bear a disproportionate burden of global poverty. Large and growing youth unemployment threatens sustainable development and social stability, and women continue to experience barriers in almost every aspect of economic life.

If re-elected we continue to make women and youths empowerment our primary focus by engaging and introducing them to activities in knowledge, skills, technologies and business support services needed to enable women and youth to engage in productive activities, generate income, and thereby reduce poverty. Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba’s Foundation as a humanitarian organization in collaboration with government will do more to assist our people. Empowering women and youths will help them achieve their full potential, and such investment opportunities for both women and youth have a tremendous economic and social impact on our society.
